  Kelley Phillips Cox, founder of the non-profit Phillips Wharf Environmental Center (PWEC) has launched "The Oyster House Project,"an exciting new plan to link environmental education and economic development. PWEC is raising funds to purchase the oyster house property beside the Tilghman Bridge and transform it into an attractive multipurpose campus.PWEC’s goal is to preserve the working waterfront and expand its environmental education activities. While continuing to be of use to watermen, The Oyster House Project will also benefit the community and attract eco-tourists and other visitors to the area.
